We are all performers. We each wear masks to assimilate into our environment. These masks are our identity and our persona. With each new mask, we push and pull our gender roles.

This project, Day&Night, all started with the rules of each gender. Gender, in western culture, is black and white. Men have short cut hair, wear rugged clothes, and are not interested in anything but sports, BBQing, technology, and cars. While women are dainty, soft, and are home makers, bakers, and rearing children. But there can be times when these lines are bent out of shape.

This work demonstrates the assimilation into heteronormative society among the gay Toronto community. By day, these men attempt to pass as straight, and by night they perform their gender in a unique, and bending way. They are the true masters of performance.
